10 things you need to know about Rolex’s latest ladies timepiece

1 JEWELLED TRADITION The Pearlmaster is the crowning glory of Rolex’s jewellery watches. Pieces in this collection traditionally feature dials with opulent gem settings.

2 RAZZLE DAZZLE The Pearlmaster 39 is set with more than 850 diamonds, which are selected and graded in Rolex’s own gemmology laboratory.

3 ETERNAL SHINE The case is made of Everose, Rolex’s version of rose gold. Platinum is added to the usual mix of gold and copper to create this special alloy and to prevent discolouration.

4 MADE FOR DEPTH The case is waterproof to 100 metres, with a middle section carved from a solid block of Everose gold, and the case back is fitted with a special tool available only to Rolex watchmakers.

5 PATENTLY ADVANCED The watch is equipped with a self-winding calibre backed by 14 patents, one of which is for the Chronergy escapement, which increases the efficiency and reliability of the movement.

6 AWESOME AUTONOMY The new and more efficient architecture of the movement’s barrel boosts the escapement’s performance, increasing the watch’s power reserve by 10 hours to a total of 70 hours.

7 OPTIMUM PRECISION The movement carries the Rolex Superlative Chronometer certification, which guarantees precision of −2/+2 seconds per day, more than twice that required of a standard chronometer.

8 BUILT FOR COMFORT The bracelet’s rounded links ensure the watch is comfortable to wear and the concealed clasp, which makes the bracelet aesthetically pleasing, is easy to use.

9 ANTI-MAGNETIC The Rolex Chronergy escapement that drives the watch is made from nickel phosphorus, giving the movement strong resistance to magnetic interference.

10 FORM AND FUNCTION As well as the hours, minutes and seconds, the Pearlmaster 39 features an instantaneous date and a stop seconds function.
