There are many reasons to fly with Austrian Airlines, also known as myaustrian, but perhaps the best reason of all is the award-winning airline’s staff. Their unique Austrian charm and the unparalleled service they offer make every flight a memorable experience. And it appears plenty of people agree: myaustrian has won the Best Airline Staff Service Europe category at the World Airline Awards for the past three years.
A member of the Lufthansa Group, myaustrian flies to 130 destinations worldwide. Based in Vienna, close to the geographical heart of Europe, the airline provides extensive access to Central and Eastern Europe, with 37 routes in the region. Its 80 aircraft handled 11.4 million passengers in 2016.
For long-haul flights between Asia and Europe, myaustrian offers passengers the chance to fly in style with its Business Class service. The interiors of all the airline’s long-haul aircraft were given a stylish upgrade in 2013, featuring contemporary Austrian design, personal mood lighting and high-quality materials throughout. In particular, the myaustrian Business Class seats were taken to a new level by the redesign; they now offer total comfort both seated and lying down. Particularly handy for long-haul travel is the completely flat bed, almost two metres in length. It features an air cushion system, allowing passengers to adjust it for optimum personal comfort, and comes equipped with a relaxing massage function.
Travellers on myaustrian Business Class will be able to stretch out full-length for a sound sleep or spend their time on board enjoying the enhanced on-demand entertainment system. It offers up to 500 hours of video and music through a 15-inch high-definition flat screen, with perfect sound quality provided by noise-cancelling headphones.
The restaurant-style food served in Business Class comes with a typical myaustrian touch, the Flying Chef, taking in-flight food service to another level. Responsible for completing dishes on board and for their presentation, the chef is also there throughout the flight to answer passengers’ questions about the dishes’ ingredients and preparation. The Flying Chef service is available exclusively in myaustrian’s long-haul Business Class.
Vienna’s first coffee house opened in 1685, and the city is famed around the world for its unique coffee house culture, which in 2011 was added to the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage by Unesco. That coffee-making heritage is honoured on myaustrian flights, with a selection of 10 styles of Viennese coffee available to passengers in myaustrian Business Class.
