All the single ladies, all the single ladies. Now put your hands up! That’s exactly what we asked Asia’s hottest chicas to do when we were compiling our who’s who of the region’s most eligible women. Cherry-picked by Asia Tatler editors from Indonesia, Malaysia, Mainland China, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and, of course, Hong Kong, the 60 women that made our Asia’s Most Wanted list (p.90) are not just single—they are gorgeous, globe-trotting brainy bachelorettes.
And when we say single, we actually mean not married or engaged. So if you liked it but you didn’t put a ring on it (what would I do without Beyoncé), then your girlfriend might just appear on our hot list. Bearing in mind that our recent Asia’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors list has chocked up more than 1.6 million page views on Hktatler.com, you might want to drop down on one knee pronto before royalty and tycoons start muscling in on your action.
And before you ask—yes, we do have private numbers for all these hotties, but Tatler’s Little Black Book is strictly for our use, I mean, our eyes only.
Love was also the force that brought together well-known local creatives Alan Chan and Stanley Wong for their latest project. The object of their affection was not each other (although Alan’s wife claims Stanley knows her husband better than she does); it was our beloved city that is the focus of their coming exhibition, Very Hong Kong Very Hong Kong.
Examining Hong Kong design trends of the past, present and future, their artistic venture showcases more than 1,000 works spanning 11 categories, including graphics, toys, fashion, architecture, music and comics. With quiet, reflective Stanley complementing Alan’s frenetic energy, the lifelong friends have co-curated a well-observed and perfectly balanced show that is a fitting love letter to our city’s creative flair. The show opens at City Hall on August 6 and Comix Home Base in Wan Chai on August 17. Read associate editor Marianna Cerini’s interview on page 82.
