1 16TH CENTURY MEDICI ARCHITECTURE

The designs of our new bag come from a combination of different coloured leathers. The patterns are created with a technique called leather marquetry rather than printing. They’re inspired by beautiful structures created by the Medici family in the 16th century originally in straw, then in marble and wood. “I THINK GOOD DESIGN IS ABOUT REPETITION. AN ARTISAN’S HAND BECOMES FLUID WITH REPETITION, LIKE A MANTRA YOU CHANT IN TEMPLES”

2 THESEUS CHAN

I love the Singaporean graphic designer Theseus Chan and think his work needs to be seen by the rest of the world. I worked with him on an installation for our Singapore flagship store. He incorporated the trunks into a graphic video and created the visual language for it.

3 MANGO STICKY RICE

Sticky rice and mango always make my day. Actually, all things mango, especially with whipped cream and shaved ice.

4 MACHU PICCHU

The first place on my bucket list is Machu Picchu. In fact, I might actually go in November. I know I’m going to suffer but I have to go. I went to Cuba and was a bit disappointed because it’s no longer the same as it was in the mid-1990s, so I hope Machu Picchu has remained the same.

5 PASSAGE JOUFFROY

Among the lesserknown delights of Paris are the covered arcades that connect one big street to another. My favourite is Passage Jouffroy. It’s one of the few that has kept its traditional beauty. It has an amazing cake shop called Le Valentin.
