Bohemian fashionista and mother-of-two Alison Chan-el Azar has many fond memories of Rome, having visited several times. As she sits chatting in the newly reopened Bulgari flagship store in Central, she mentions that she’s yet to take her children to explore it but is looking forward to doing so. “It’s funny when you have children,” she says. “Even if you’ve seen things a thousand times before, they suddenly become exciting again when you see them through their eyes.”
“I love just hanging out in the park with my children—every time we’re there we have the most amazing time,” she says, imagining enjoying the natural beauty of Rome’s parks with them. “They love the big open spaces and the feel of the grass between their toes. They pick up on, and are fascinated by, even the smallest detail.”
With its spectacular backdrops and iconic landscapes, there’s always something new for travellers young and old to discover in Rome. Alison already has a few family-friendly locations in mind for when she returns with her husband and children.
