STEPHNIE SHEK FIVE MUST SEES FOR ROME FIRST-TIMERS

-

As a fine arts graduate from London’s Central Saint Martins, Stephnie Shek is no stranger to artefacts pleasing to the eye. With such a background coupled with her love for travel, Rome is an ideal destination for her next trip. “Italy has been on my travel bucket list for some time, but I’m travelling a lot for weddings at the moment, so I haven’t had a chance to visit yet,” she says. “Although, by stepping into the Bulgari flagship store and experiencing the opulence, I can imagine what it might be like.”

Given the subject of her studies, it was clear Stephnie’s career would take an artistic course. When she returned to Hong Kong in 2014, she channelled her talent into launching her nail salon, Eightyeight on Wellington Street in Central, and it has gone from strength to strength since. Her talented nail artists can create almost any look your heart desires, so you can try anything from Swarovski crystal-embellished Pomeranians to classic colour blocking.

Italian women are renowned for their impeccable sense of style, something Stephnie is passionate about. “Hands are like a woman’s second face; nailcare is like make-up for your hands,” she says. “Some people prefer to keep it light and simple, with a French manicure, while others prefer a bolder appearance.” With Stephnie’s flair for detail, great design and keen eye for all things beautiful, her choice of top spots in Rome are must-sees for any Italian adventure. And she can ensure your nails are Rome-ready, too.
