BEHAVING WELL

The Sisleÿa L’intégral Anti-âge Antiwrinkle Concentrated Serum helps balance out the effects of ageing that are brought about by our behaviour

We all have that friend who has somehow beaten the sands of time, with skin so dewy it probably belongs on a university campus. “I just get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water,” your friend usually answers when cross-questioned on how she looks so youthful. But what if you simply don’t have the time to sleep eight hours a night like your agedefying friend—or the flexibility to follow a vegan diet? Well, that’s where French skincare specialist Sisley comes in— specifically, its new wonder product, the Sisleÿa L’intégral Anti-âge Anti-wrinkle Concentrated Serum.

According to Sisley’s Asia-pacific regional managing director, Nicolas Chesnier, our behaviour really is essential to slowing down the ageing process and the serum actually targets the problems that are caused by people’s behaviour. Last year, Sisley stepped up its research into epigenetics by looking into the source of behavioural ageing. “Eating properly, sleeping well and drinking water—of course that all has a positive impact on skin,” says Chesnier. “But it’s not always something you can control in the modern world. And finding out what we can do about this was the basis of our research.”

During their extensive study, Sisley discovered that when porcelain cacao extract, a new Sisley active ingredient, is applied directly to the skin, it targets collagen to reawaken and kick-start its synthesis—a process that is often halted by bad habits, such as too much alcohol and not enough sleep. Added to the ingredient is soy peptide extract, which boosts the activity of fibroblasts—cells that are responsible for collagen production in the dermis—and blue agave yeast extract, which promotes the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and replenishes the skin from within, leaving it hydrated and smoother, with reduced wrinkles.

Finally, to deal with the effects of pollution, insomnia and eating too many meals, is the addition of white willow leaf extract, which is rich in antioxidant polyphenols. It helps shield the dermal fibres from free radicals while slowing down collagen and elastin degradation.

“With this product, we at Sisley have discovered something that will make a real difference by addressing all the signs of ageing,” says Chesnier. “In prior research into ageing, behavioural ageing was always missing, so this is a very big change in skincare research. It really is a reformulation of anti-wrinkle products—it is even very different from Sisley creams and serums that have come before it.”

The results are impressive. The Sisleÿa L’intégral Antiâge Anti-wrinkle Concentrated Serum has a visible, instant effect on wrinkles across the entire face. After two months, there is a significant reduction in dehydration, dry skin and expression lines, which are diminished in appearance, length and depth. Wrinkles are visibly plumped from within and the face looks as if it has been gently lifted. And best of all, you can do this without overhauling your lifestyle—because sometimes we all need that glass of wine on a summer evening or a late night out with our best friend. We just don’t want our skin to know about it.
