HARVEY NICHOLS REOPENING PARTY
The social season got off to an early start at Pacific Place when Harvey Nichols threw a reopening party after a three-month renovation of its premises. A roll call of the city’s most influential figures—including Henry Tang, Samson Sun and Lo Ka-shui— paraded through the luxe department store’s entrance, which was flooded with congratulatory flowers for owner Dickson Poon.
Following the HK$250 million revamp, the store now incorporates touchscreen and live streaming services to enhance customers’ shopping experience. In one corner of the launch party, Dickson’s daughter Daryl walked Michael and Betty Kadoorie through a digital lookbook, which enables shoppers to swipe through the store’s inventory.
As usual, Dickson’s wife, Pearl, was a gracious hostess, sashaying through the gilded emporium in her shimmering Monique Lhuillier dress greeting equally fashionable attendees Ming Ho-tang, Louisa Cheng and Candice Chan. The soirée also drew Pearson, Dickson’s charismatic son, out in public, his first appearance at a party since his appointment as executive director of the family business in December. Pearson has been working on initiatives to attract a younger clientele, and he seems to be achieving success, going by the stylish millennial set at the blowout. We spied Mario Ho, Adrian Cheng and Amanda Cheung posing for photos while their peers enjoyed bubbly bevvies, shopped and played with claw machines containing Harvey Nicholsthemed matryoshka dolls.
