Sotheby’s has only just begun hosting virtual sales—the auction house debuted its digital sales programme on April 1— but it’s already proven that online watch auctions have a growing appeal.
In late March, a Rolex ‘Paul Newman’ Daytona sold for roughly US$167,188. Days later, that number was nearly doubled by another Rolex Daytona at Sotheby’s, which sold for $306,518.
