2018 RALLY DAKAR 2018: THE STRONGEST TEAM ALWAYS WINS

THE 40TH EDITION OF RALLY DAKAR WAS RAN BACK IN JANUARY AND IT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE EVENT, IN 1979. THE SUSPENSION OF THE RACE, IN 2008, DUE TO SECURITY ISSUES, MODIFIED THE SCENARIO A YEAR AFTER EUROPE-AFRICA TO SOUTH AMERICA, WITH TEN EDITIONS AND ROUTES THAT WERE AS HARD OR EVEN MORE DIFFICULT THAN THOSE LIVED AT THE

AFRICAN DESERT. Just as our headline reads, the stronger team always wins, and it not only refers to the vehicle’s features,

which are very important, but also to the team members (driver and co-driver) who do their best in terms of skills, concentration and mind strength to make it through each stage. That’s the reason why the list of winners is made up of: Matthias Walkner, Austria (KTM) in bikes; Ignacio Casale, Chile (Yamaha) in quads; Carlos Sainz, Spain (Peugeot) in cars and Eduard Nikolaev, Russia (Kamaz) in trucks. All of these drivers hold several crowns, except for the Austrian. As for the brands, they have all won an

array of prizes in this epic race.
