Carer in custody over ‘cash theft’

SRI LANKAN carer Daya Mudiyanselage, 55, is being held on suspicion of stealing 2,000TL from the purse of her elderly Yeniboğaziçi employer, Hatice Devecioğlu Deniz, between October and January 8.

Gazimağusa District Court, which remanded Mudiyanselage in prison custody for up to a month on Thursday, heard the cash had been found hidden under her mattress.
