According to information provided by Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality, its Public and Environmental Health Division teams inspected 212 workplaces, while the Municipal Police Division teams inspected 201 workplaces between September 13 and September 17.
During the inspections, which are carried out every week “in line with the Council of Ministers’ decisions”, checks were made to ensure that businesses were adhering to the rules on mask wearing, social distancing and hygiene.
Checks were conducted on employees’ Covid-19 tests, health certificates and workplace permits, and whether or not the AdaPass digital application was being used.
During the inspections “15 units of products that were not kept under suitable conditions” were confiscated from one workplace.
The inspected businesses included hotels, corner shops, supermarkets, street food vendors, kebab shops, restaurants, petrol stations, patisseries, cafes, hairdressers, beauty salons, barber shops, a bakery, a food warehouse, a casino, off-licences, bars, gyms, a pub, nut and dried fruit shops, a student dormitory, a wedding hall and betting shops.
