Cihangir top league table after 4-1 win
CİHANGİR moved to the top of the Aksa Super League table with a 4-1 away win against Hamitköy on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Mishali and a goal from Musa were enough to seal a comfortable win for the visitors, with Toykan grabbing a consolation for the hosts.
The win took unbeaten Cihangir on to 10 points from four games, lifting them above Yonpaş Dumlupınar on nine points, whose 100 per cent start to the season ended with a 3-0 defeat at home to Doğan Türk Birliği (DTB).
DTB took the lead after just three minutes through Kenan, with Ahmet Sönmez and Halil Turan scoring in the second half of the match played at the Gazimağusa Dr Fazıl Küçük Stadium last Saturday.
Two other teams have nine points, with only goals scored separating Yonpaş Dumlupınar in second place from Gönyeli in third and Mesarya in fourth spot. Each team has a goal difference of plusthree.
Gönyeli overcame Göçmenköy 4-2 at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Stadium last Saturday while Mesarya beat Yenicami 1-0 on Sunday.
Merit Alsancak Yeşilova moved up to fifth in the table on eight points after thrashing bottom club Binatlı — who have lost all their fixtures so far — 5-0.
In the weekend’s other matches Lefke won 3-2 against defending champions Mağusa Türk Gücü while there were two red cards at the Girne 20 Temmuz Stadium as hosts Türk Ocağı lost 1-0 to Küçük Kaymaklı. Girne Halk Evi recorded their first win of the campaign, beating Baf Ülkü Yurdu 2-1. Last night Binatlı were due to play Baf Ülkü Yurdu in the first of the week five matches.
