TRNC readies for ‘spooktacul­ar’ Halloween events

HALLOWEEN is nearly upon us, and spooktacul­ar events are due to take place. On Saturday, October 30, there will be a Halloween Party and Fundraiser for Heartbeat-North Cyprus Cancer

Charity Trust at the Wild Duck Cafe in Lapta from 6pm to 10.30pm. The event will feature entertainm­ent from DJ Mancini, game stalls, and face painting. Food and refreshmen­ts will be available, and fancy dress is optional for attendees.

On the same day “Halloween at Gillham” event will take place at the Gillham Vineyard Hotel in Yeşiltepe. Grammy list nominee Demetra George Mustafaoğl­u and maestro Rauf Kasimov will perform songs from Broadway and well-known films.

There will be a seven-course special menu available at the hotel’s restaurant. Tickets to the show cost 10 euros per person, with the meal costing 35 euros per person and including a glass of wine. Some of the proceeds from the event will go to the Cyprus Foundation­s Administra­tion (Evkaf), in order to feed needy people in North Cyprus. Reservatio­ns can be made by calling 0533 871 7070.

Lapta will witness the “Boos & Booze Halloween Party. Fancy dress is optional for attendees, and free shots will be offered. There will also be a “trick or treat” with prizes, and music from DJ Mancini.

The Diiva restaurant in Esentepe is hosting a Halloween Karaoke and Disco on Sunday, October 31, hosted by karaoke “master DJs” Susie and Martin. Attendees will be able to get henna tattoos or their faces painted by Joumana, and there will be a prize for the best Halloween costume of the night. The event will begin at 5pm and carry on “til late”, with the restaurant also providing a set menu.
