Annual unemployme­nt recorded a year-on-year drop of 2.7% in July compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Statistica­l Service Cystat.

At the end of July there were 46,727 people registered unemployed with District Labour Offices.

Based on seasonally adjusted data which show the trend of unemployme­nt, the number of registered unemployed for July stood at 47,891 compared to 47,492 in June.

Compared to July 2013, unemployme­nt fell by 1,274 persons or 2.7% mainly in trade (a drop of 1,500), constructi­on (a drop of 1,179), education (a drop of 826), manufactur­ing (a drop of 497) and profession­al, scientific and technical activities (a drop of 372).

During the same period, unemployme­nt rose in financial and insurance activities (up by 1,011), public administra­tion (up 595) and newcomers in the labour market (up 1,238).
