Annual unemployment recorded a year-on-year drop of 2.7% in July compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Statistical Service Cystat.
At the end of July there were 46,727 people registered unemployed with District Labour Offices.
Based on seasonally adjusted data which show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for July stood at 47,891 compared to 47,492 in June.
Compared to July 2013, unemployment fell by 1,274 persons or 2.7% mainly in trade (a drop of 1,500), construction (a drop of 1,179), education (a drop of 826), manufacturing (a drop of 497) and professional, scientific and technical activities (a drop of 372).
During the same period, unemployment rose in financial and insurance activities (up by 1,011), public administration (up 595) and newcomers in the labour market (up 1,238).
