Cyprus in the Fancy Food Show in NY

Cyprus was re­cently rep­re­sented in the In­ter­na­tional Food and Bev­er­age Ex­hi­bi­tion Fancy Foods Show held in New York with the par­tic­i­pa­tion of 27 com­pa­nies.

Ac­cord­ing to the or­gan­is­ers, this year’s ex­hi­bi­tion with over 2,700 ex­hibitors and 28,000 vis­i­tors was the big­gest so far.

The tra­di­tional cheese halloumi, as well as other Cypriot prod­ucts such as pasta, nuts, vine­gar and con­fec­tionery were pre­sented at the ex­hi­bi­tion.

“Fewer ex­hibitors came di­rectly from Cyprus this year due to the fact that their rep­re­sen­ta­tives here in the U.S. un­der­take their par­tic­i­pa­tion in the ex­hi­bi­tion, which is good, be­cause it shows that the prod­ucts are placed on the mar­ket and there is in­ter­est from US im­porters and dis­trib­u­tors to pro­mote them in co­op­er­a­tion with the Cypriot com­pa­nies,” said Aris­tos Con­stanti­nou, Direc­tor of the Cyprus Trade Cen­ter in New York.

The Vice Pres­i­dent of the Cyprus-Amer­i­can Cham­ber of Com­merce, Ni­cos Ni­co­laou, wel­com­ing the Cypriot ex­hibitors said that the goal of the cham­ber is to pro­vide ev­ery pos­si­ble as­sis­tance to Cypriot pro­duc­ers wish­ing to pro­mote their prod­ucts in the US.
