243 mln for new Rural Development plan
Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment Minister Nicos Kouyialis said that during difficult economic conditions, with proper financial management, the absorption of EU funds to Cyprus has increased from 50% to 85% in the period 2007-2013, with more than 282 mln euros channelled into the previous Rural Development Programme which was completed at the end of 2015.
He said during the official launch of the campaign for the new Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 that through this plan the second pillar of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy is being implemented in Cyprus which aims to develop the primary production sector and the rural areas.
