THIS WAS WHERE THE ARTISTIC FAMILY LIVED AND WORKED FOR 23 YEARS.

-

At her death in 1984, Sonja Ferlov Mancoba’s Paris studio and home stood as those who had visited her remembered it: a small space with stone floors, filled with plaster figures and plaster dust and poorly insulated against the street noise and the cold. In this small space and the adjoining back room, Sonja Ferlov Mancoba had lived and worked with her life companion, artist Ernest Mancoba and their son Wonga, who in time would become an artist himself, and surrounded by works, paintings and world literature.
