Al-Ahly beats Zamalek in market value, ahead by £2.3m
El Shenawy is the most expensive Egyptian player in the league, valued at £1.53m
Al-Ahly and Zamalek matches are a strong derby at the local, African, and regional levels. They are also one of the most important football matches and one of the most popular derbies worldwide.
The competition was not only at the level of sports or competition in the contract with the players, but extended to reach the economic value of the teams.
Al-Ahly beats Zamalek in its market value, according to data of the transfer market website, which is specialised in evaluating the prices of players and tournaments.
According to the website, Al-Ahly football team has reached a market value of £17m, making it the most valuable team in the Egyptian league. Its rival, Zamalek, scored second place with a market value of £14.7m—a difference of £2.3m. The total market value of the Egyptian league is valued at £85.6m.
In terms of market value of the players of Al-Ahly, Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Fathi, Abdallah Said, and Ahmed Hegazy top the list, along with the newly transferred to West Bromwich, Ali Maâloul, next to Rami Rabia and Saleh Gomaa. Collectively, they amount to £850,000.
In Zamalek, Ahmed El Shenawy, the goal keeper, is the most expensive across Egypt with a market value of £1.53m. Shikabala’s market value was estimated at £510,000.
Ahmed Hamdi is the least in market value in Al-Ahly with only £128,000. In Zamalek, Omar Salah and Ahmed Aboul Fetouh are the least with each of them marking only £43,000.
