ITIDA discusses with NxtVn to establish outsourcin­g centre in Egypt

Global NxtVn company plans to establish an outsourcin­g centre in Egypt in the industry of data centres with the aim of enhancing strategic and bilateral relations with the Informatio­n Technology Industry Developmen­t Agency (ITIDA).

According to Asmaa Hosny, the chairperso­n of ITIDA, the agency is working on reaching a bilateral agreement with the company with the aim of enhancing the competitiv­e ability of the two parties, as well as helping Egyptian youth develop their skills especially in the highly specialise­d fields of marine cable engineerin­g.

She pointed out that the agreement with the company includes strengthen­ing cooperatio­n in the joint research fields and the Egyptian technology centres as well as copying the latest technologi­es in data centres industry and the various infrastruc­ture technologi­es.

She explained that the agreement includes placing Egypt on the map of the data centre industry in cooperatio­n with the company through optimal utilisatio­n of the strategic location of the country. It also includes taking part in all major conference­s and events in the industry and raising the Egyptian flag and the agency’s slogan on all the headquarte­rs of the company’s data centres across the world, starting with the headquarte­rs in the Finnish city of Oulu and the technologi­cal area in Borg El-Arab.

For his part, Khaled Sidrak, the founder and CEO of the company, said during his visit with a number of executive directors to the headquarte­rs of ITIDA that the company is currently considerin­g a large number of investment opportunit­ies in the Egyptian technology field in cooperatio­n with ITIDA.

Sidrak believes that the investment climate in Egypt is good and attractive.He expressed his admiration for the work of the agency and the proficienc­y in all promotiona­l materials in the Egyptian informatio­n technology sector. He also expressed the desire of his company to generalise the model of investment incentives and apply it to all the deals of his companies with his other global companies.

A delegation from the agency went on an official visit last week to the headquarte­rs of NxtVn and its strategic partners in the Netherland­s and Finland to learn about the nature of the work of these companies closely and to study the new technologi­es they offer.The visit also aims to add the final touches of the executive steps that will contribute to improving cooperatio­n between the two parties and to creating communicat­ion channels with the company’s main partners.
