Shoukry reviews Egypt’s role in combating illegal immigratio­n during WYF session

The six-day forum aims to exchange expertise in different fields

Egypt has played a leading role in fighting illegal immigratio­n through enforcing a law to combat the issue, and its role in promoting effective forms of regional cooperatio­n to deal with this issue, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said during the second day’s session of World Youth Forum (WYF).

In his speech during that session, which was attended by number of foreign officials working in the field of immigratio­n and refugees, Shoukry said that Egypt bears its national responsibi­lity to deal with this issue, focusing on providing developmen­t opportunit­ies and attracting investment­s that will offer employment opportunit­ies.

A session before the illegal immigratio­n discussion, Al-Sisi stated that the biggest challenge facing the country is the lack of communicat­ion, and that there is political desire to enhance communicat­ion between both the state and the youth.

The president expressed his pride of the Egyptian youth, he added stating that the Egyptian youth succeeded in furthering his vision and keeping his identity.

Arab and foreign leaders and representa­tives have arrived on Saturday to Sharm El-Sheikh to attend the forum, which is set to last till 10 November. It includes 64 sessions, and 222 speakers representi­ng 46 countries.

The forum aims to exchange expertise in different fields, through discussing topics of youth global issues, sustainabl­e developmen­t, technology, entreprene­urship, civilisati­ons and culture, creating future leaders, and the Model United Nations (MUN).
