Lebanese crisis tops Shoukry’s three-day visit to 6 Arab coun-

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry starts on Sunday a three-day visit to six Arab countries to discuss bilateral relations and updates of the situation of the region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokespers­on Ahmed Abou Zaid said in a statement.

The visit includes Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

Abou Zaid added that the tour comes in the frame of consultati­ons between Egypt and the Arab countries on the bilateral relations and the situation in the region amid the updates of the situation in Lebanon,and the increase of challenges related to the security and stability of the region.

These challenges require increasing consultati­on and coordinati­on between Egypt and its brothers in the Arab countries, the statement read.Abou Zaid added that Shoukry holds messages from Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to the leaders of the six countries.

Shoukry will also hold meetings with his counterpar­ts in the six Arab countries.

According to the statement, during his discussion­s, Shoukry will stress Egypt’s constant position, which stresses the necessity of keeping Arab national security. Egypt also calls for political solutions and avoiding more reasons for escalation and polarisati­on in the region.

The foreign minister will review the Egyptian view and evaluation for the way of dealing with the changes that face the region.
