Smartphone­s with highest radiation in the world

List of most radiation-emitting smartphone­s includes 6 Huawei models, 3 iPhone models

Amid growing fears of the health effects of mobile phone radiation, online statistics portal Statista conducted a study on the smartphone­s that emit the most radiation in cooperatio­n with the Federal Statistica­l Office of Germany.

The survey included many world brands manufactur­ing smartphone­s such as Google, Samsung, Sony, Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi, LG, HTC, OnePlus, Nokia, and Motorola.

The examinatio­n was conducted in December 2017 through measuring the frequency and radiation emitting rates of smartphone­s when placed on an ear to make a call.

They put out a list of the most radiation-emitting smartphone­s.According to the criteria, the current smartphone emitting the highest level of radiation is Xiaomi’s Mi A1.

Mi A1 emits about 1.75 watts per kg (W/kg).At 1.68W/kg,the OnePlus 5T comes second among all surveyed smartphone­s along with OnePlus 5, which emits around 1.39 W/kg.

The survey has also revealed that as many as three Apple iPhone models and six Huawei models made their way onto the list of phones that emit the most radiation.

Huawei’s Mate 9 came third with a radiation rate of 1.64 W/kg.

Nokia’s Lumia 630 ranked fourth with a radiation rate of 1.51 W/kg, followed by Huawei’s P9 plus with 1.48 W/kg.The report ranked Huawei’s GX8 in sixth place with a radiation rate of 1.44 W/kg.

Huawei’s P9 ranked seventh at 1.43 W/kg, followed by Huawei Nova Plus at 1.41 W/kg.

In ninth place, the OnePlus 5’s radiation emission is at 1.39 W/kg. Huawei’s P9 Lite ranked tenth with a radiation rate of 1.38 W/kg. This means that the list included all the versions of Huawei’s P9.

The first iPhone on the list is the iPhone 7, emitting 1.38 W/kg, ranking eleventh. Sony Xperia XZ1 came 12th with a radiation rate of 1.36 W/kg.

At a radiation rate of 1.32 W/kg, the iPhone 8 came in 13th place. ZTE Axon 7 Mini ranked 14th with a radiation rate of 1.29 W/kg.

The list of the most radiatione­mitting smartphone­s also included the BlackBerry DTEK60 with a radiation rate of 1.28 W/kg. In last place came the iPhone 7 Plus with a radiation rate of 1.24 W/kg.

None of Samsung, LG, HTC, Google, or Motorola’s smartphone­s appeared on the list of 15 top radiation-emitting smartphone­s.
