EBI launches financial education activities in governorates
The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI)—the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE)— has announced the launch of an awareness campaign on financial education under the initiative of ‘Ashan Bokra’ (For Tomorrow) in governorates in order to raise awareness among all segments.
The EBI started the campaign in the governorates of Upper Egypt, beginning with Sohag from 5 to 10 November.
“Through this campaign, EBI targets female leaders in rural areas, teachers, college students, and special needs individuals, as well as some entrepreneurs,” said Abdelziz Nosseir, the executive director of EBI.
He stressed that this campaign stems from EBI’s core belief in the necessity of spreading financial awareness and educations throughout the country.
Nosseir added that EBI’s role is represented in increasing financial awareness in various sectors in the community, in order to create citizens who are able to make sound financial decisions.
The EBI was founded by the CBE in 1991 to become its official training arm. Its objective is to apply the best international practices to further enhance the technical and administrative skills of workers in the financial and banking field.The EBI’s vision targets making EBI the leading central hub of financial services in Egypt and the surrounding areas.This is through distinct skillsenhancement and integrated cognitive services for the entire financial sector, in addition to contributing to spreading financial awareness in the community.
Under the chairmanship of the governor of the CBE, Tarek Amer, the board of directors of the EBI has become one of the most important aspects of competitiveness. It is formed of eight members who are banks’ chairpersons and economic experts. It also plays a major role in the advancement of the financial and banking sectors.
