UBE participates in Egymed Pro Exhibition for pharmaceuticals, medical supplies in Sudan
During President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s visit, under the sponsorship of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, a delegation from the United Bank of Egypt (UBE) participated in the Egymed Pro Exhibition for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies last week in Sudan. This came as part of the continuous effort to increase the volume of trade, cultural, and health exchange between both countries.
With the participation of 15 major pharmaceutical companies, with the organisation of the Export Development Authority and the Egyptian Exporters Association,both presidents opened the exhibition and reviewed the products of the exhibiting companies,which that are specialised in pharmaceutical supplies, cosmetics,and food supplements.
In the UBE’s pavilion, the delegation launched a package of specialised banking solutions for Egyptian exporters and owners of pharmaceutical companies. It included specific banking funding for exporters, as well as technical advice, with the aim of increasing the volume of Egyptian exports to Sudan.The extent to which the exhibiting companies benefited from the agreements recently signed by UBE and Afrexim Bank was also reviewed.They included Egyptian exports being supplied to 50 African countries, and a company for export risk guarantee.
Ashraf El-Qadi, chairman of UBE, said that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan is close to $1bn annually,with an increase of 18.9% compared to last year, according to a report by the Central Auditing Organisation.
