Eight companies bid to install solar stations in NAC
The list includes El Sewedy, Infinity, Light Source
Eight companies have submitted technical and financial bids to install solar panels on the roofs of 64 buildings in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
Sources told the Daily News Egypt that the list of bidders includes El Sewedy Electric, Infinity Solar, Light Source powered by Hassan Allam, Benha Electronics, Arab Organization for Industrialisation, China Chint Electric, Gas Cool, and Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC).
The sources added that the technical and financial tenders submitted by the companies will be analysed and the evaluation is scheduled to be completed before the end of next month.The contract will be awarded to the executing company in the first quarter of next year.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has chosen 13 companies to establish solar projects in the city, and informed them to submit their technical and financial offers for the installation of solar panels with a capacity of 15MW on the roofs of government buildings in the NAC.
This was a part of the ACUD’s plan to rely on clean and environmentally friendly energy,in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).The company only invited top local and international companies.
The NAC covers an area of 170,000 feddan and is expected to accommodate a population of 18-40 million people by 2050. It is located on the borders of Badr City in the area between Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads after New Cairo, Future City, and Madinaty projects. It is about 60 km from Ain Sokhna and Suez.
The first phase of the NAC is 40,000 feddan and includes residential, commercial, administrative, governmental, diplomatic, and business districts.
