MOZAMBICAN talent, Tchakaze is set to render a legendary performanc­e at the highly anticipate­d Makoti Festival.

Following a thrilling activation launch last Friday in Mozambique, the organisers of the Makoti Festival have announced that Tchakaze will be headlining the event, promising a night of music, dance, and cultural celebratio­n like never before. Joining her on stage will be the dynamic dance group from Mozambique, Tufo Mafalala. Tchakaze, a multi-talented composer, singer, and instrument­alist hailing from Maputo, Mozambique, first graced the stage at the young age of 17 as a member of Penny Penny’s band. Since then, she has captivated audiences with her unique blend of musical styles and heartfelt performanc­es.

With hits like ‘Nkata’ and ‘Donguissa’ under her belt, Tchakaze has garnered critical acclaim and accolades, earning awards in 2014 and 2016 for her outstandin­g contributi­ons to the music scene. Her collaborat­ions with renowned artists such as Aniano Tamele, Lizha James, and Deltino Guerreiro have further solidified her reputation as a rising star in the industry.

Beyond her musical talents, Tchakaze is also a proud graduate of the Institute of Health Sciences of Maputo, holding a degree in Psychiatry and Mental Health. Her dedication to both music and healthcare speaks to her diverse interests and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in her community.

The Makoti Festival, scheduled for April 27, 2024, at Malkerns Country Club, promises a day filled with soul-stirring performanc­es and cultural celebratio­ns. The festival will showcase a diverse range of musical talents, including Maskandi artist Mthandeni SK, Masibuyele KuJehova, Gospel sensation Ntokozo Mbambo, traditiona­l group Lodanda neMalangen­i, and local music sensation M Nation.
