Evangelical Church mourns passing of Reverend Dr. Nicholas Nyawo
A dark cloud hangs over the Evangelical Church community as they are mourning the passing of Reverend Dr. Nicholas Nyawo, a revered elder and Senior Pastor who served with unwavering dedication for decades.
The Evangelical Church Body confirmed his demise, revealing that Reverend Dr. Nyawo passed away while undergoing treatment in Johannesburg, South Africa. His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of congregants and his family.
Reverend Dr. Nyawo, who also held the position of Tisuka TakaNgwane General Manager, was a pillar of strength within the Evangelical Church. With a career spanning many years, he is said to have touched the lives of countless individuals through his ministry and leadership. Stationed at Matsapha Evangelical Church, Reverend Dr. Nyawo’s spiritual guidance and mentorship left an indelible mark on the community he served.
The heartbreaking news of his passing was confirmed by a close family member. At 80 years old, he leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, service, and compassion.
Reverend Dr. Nyawo’s journey in the ministry was marked by remarkable achievements and steadfast commitment. Appointed as Tisuka TakaNgwane General Manager in 1995, he played a pivotal role in the organization’s development and growth, embodying the principles of integrity and dedication throughout his tenure.
Prior to his role as General Manager, Reverend Dr. Nyawo served as Headteacher at Franson Christian High School in Mhlosheni, where some has said that his passion for education and spiritual guidance shaped the lives of students and staff.
In addition to his illustrious career in the ministry, Reverend Dr. Nyawo shared a loving partnership with his wife, University Lecturer Dr. Sonene Nyawo.
