Comedian Ronnie battles with rare neurological illness

-

THE Eswatini comedy scene has been dealt a blow as beloved comedian Ronnie, known for his infectious humour and comedic talent, has announced he is taking a break from performances due to a rare neurological illness.

In a heartfelt statement released on the Facebook page Ronnie & King Mora, which he shares with his comedy partner King Mora, it was revealed that Ronnie’s health has taken a turn for the worse, forcing him to step away from the spotlight. The statement expressed the difficulty of the decision, stating, “We are sad to announce that our brother Ronnie is forced to take a break from all things comedy because of his deteriorating illness. This is the most difficult decision we have to take.”

The post went on to detail the symptoms of Ronnie’s rare neurological illness, including difficulties in walking, loss of balance, stiffness in the legs, and challenges with breathing and speaking during attacks, with his vocal cords also being affected. The statement highlighted the struggles Ronnie has faced in finding effective treatment, with the only medication that provided some relief being a sedative pill called Diazepam, which is an expensive drug.

Furthermore, the post mentioned a potential alternative treatment option, Stem Cell Therapy, that could help alleviate Ronnie’s symptoms, but the high cost has made it inaccessible to him. Despite the efforts of his family and friends to support him, financial constraints have posed a significant obstacle in his path to recovery.

As Ronnie focuses on his health and well-being, it is revealed that he will be unable to shoot any more comedy videos or perform live, with only King Mora carrying on their comedic legacy in the meantime. The statement concluded with a message of hope and faith, stating, “We will miss him, and we now leave everything to God. He will only be back when he overcomes this stubborn illness for now it’s still bad. May God be with us during this difficult time.”

Fans and well-wishers are encouraged to reach out to Ronnie or King Mora for more information and to offer their support during this challenging period. For more information, you can contact Ronnie on or King Mora on 7666 8154.
