Micro Project to fund E1.3 million for market construction facilitated by DPM
ZAMANI Bomake Multi-Purpose Association is on the brink of owning a cutting-edge market facility valued at E1.3 million in Mashobeni North, under the Timphisini constituency.
After years of enduring challenges, the Association, which comprises twenty-five members, is gearing up for a transformative journey towards economic empowerment and sustainable growth.
The greatest turning point for the association came in January this year when Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla paid a visit to the market and witnessed firsthand the dire conditions faced by the members due to the inadequate infrastructure. Touched by their plight, DPM Dladla announced that the Micro-Project would fund the construction of a modern market facility.
With construction set to commence next month, in May, and slated for completion by August this year, the anticipation among the members is huge. The new market promises to provide a conducive environment for their businesses to thrive, shielding them from harsh weather conditions and offering improved facilities to attract customers.
DPM Dladla added the importance of innovation and diversification, and she urged the group members to explore creative avenues to attract more customers, including tourists.
The Market is situated close to the Mananga Border Gate, which connects Eswatini and Mozambique, DPM’s office stated that the market holds immense potential as a hub for trade and commerce, which can provide a gateway for crossborder opportunities.
DPM Dladla further addressed the broader economic landscape and highlighted the significance of leveraging alternative incomegenerating activities, such as farming, processing produce, and packaging organic products. In a country grappling with high unemployment rates, she emphasized the need for massive measures to harness the potential of local resources and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots level.
Timphisini Member of Parliament Thulani Nsingwane lauded the swift response from the Deputy Prime Minister, and he elicited gratitude. Nsingwane also commended the Deputy Prime Minister’s impeccable approach to addressing the pressing needs of the community. Presented during the tour was Mayiwane Member of Parliament Sicelo “Khunga Nkhosi” Dlamini.
