King pledges to lead with utmost dedication
HIS Majesty King Mswati III when delivering his remarks during his 56th Birthday celebrations, pledged to the people of Eswatini and emphasized his massive commitment to serving the nation with dedication and integrity.
Addressing thousands gathered at Mankayane Stadium, the King expressed his role as a leader entrusted to guide emaSwati towards progress and prosperity.
“As King, entrusted to lead Emaswati, I pledge to continue to lead with the best interest of the people at heart and in the footsteps of my predecessors,” declared His Majesty, eliciting resounding “Bayethe” from throngs of emaSwati at the stadium. The King highlighted the timeless adage ingrained in Eswatini›s cultural ethos which is “Inkhosi, yinkhosi ngebantfu” (The King is a King because of the people), and he emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the monarch and the people.
The King reflected on the nation›s journey towards development and stated the importance of collective action and unity in pursuit of common goals.
He urged emaSwati to rally together and harness their collective potential to effect positive change in their communities and emphasized that true progress stems from a shared commitment to improving lives and strengthening prosperity.
Addressing the imperative of economic growth, His Majesty emphasized the need for concerted efforts to achieve ambitious targets. With a nod to the “Nkwe philosophy”, which embodies speed, agility, and efficiency, the King urged emaSwati to embrace a good approach in all endeavours, recognizing that time is of the essence in realizing the nation›s aspirations.
“We should not lose sight of the over five per cent economic growth target,” expressed His Majesty King Mswati III, highlighting the significance of collective effort in driving sustainable development.
The King viewed the pivotal role of government initiatives and povertyrelief funds in facilitating progress, and he expressed confidence that with coordinated action, Eswatini could make significant strides towards becoming a developed country.
