Eswatini mourns loss of Kenya’s Military Chief, soldiers in helicopter crash

THE Kingdom of Eswatini joins the global community in mourning the devastatin­g loss of Kenya’s Military Chief, General Francis Omondi Ogolla, and nine other members of the Kenyan Military Force following a tragic helicopter crash in the western region of the country.

Prime Minister Russell Dlamini conveyed the heartfelt condolence­s of Eswatini to the people of Kenya, expressing profound sadness at the untimely demise of the courageous soldiers.

The incident, which occurred during national duty, has sent shockwaves through both nations, highlighti­ng the inherent risks faced by military personnel in the line of duty. The helicopter crash, claimed the lives of highly esteemed individual­s in Kenya’s armed forces. In a statement shared by Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, Eswatini extended its deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased soldiers, offering prayers and solace during this period of profound grief. The Prime Minister also expressed sincere wishes for the full and speedy recovery of the two officers who survived the crash, emphasizin­g solidarity and support for their ongoing recovery journey.

As Eswatini stands in solidarity with Kenya during this difficult time, thoughts and prayers are extended to Kenya’s President William Samoei Ruto, the Government, and the entire Nation of Kenya.

The Prime Minister stated that the tragic loss of General Francis Omondi Ogolla and his fellow soldiers is felt deeply not only within Kenya but across the African continent, as their dedication and service to their country leave an indelible mark on the collective conscience of nations.
