Five deaths during long weekend

THE Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has reported five deaths that occurred through different incidents including murder, drowning, and road accidents this past weekend.

On April 18, a 63-year-old man of Nyakeni was discovered lying dead at 11:50 p.m with a rope tied around his neck and had a gaping on his head.

He was found at Mbekelweni and police are investigat­ing the supposed murder.

Earlier on the same day at 11:05 a.m a 34-year-old man of Mfabantfu was found floating in the Lusushwana river near Matsapha Lifestyle complex five days after he was reported missing on April 13.

On April 19, police responded to an incident at Nhlangano at 5 pm wherein a 40-year-old man of Fairview was stabbed once in the stomach with a sharp object whilst at Mathendele township.

He was rushed to Nhlangano Health Centre where he was certified dead upon arrival. His girlfriend, a 25-year-old woman from Galile was arrested and charged with murder.

On April 20 at 2 p.m, a 13-year-old boy was discovered to have drowned whilst swimming at Umtilane River at Zombodze.

Later on the same day at 4 p.m, nearEbhare­ni along the MR3 public road in Manzini, a BMW sedan driven by a 28-yearold man from Mbabane lost control and disturbing a Toyota LDV resulting in both vehicles landing in a ditch.

The driver of the BMW sustained serious injuries and was certified dead upon arrival at Mbabane Clinic, while his 15-year-old passenger was admitted with serious injuries.

The driver of the LDV also sustained serious injuries and was admitted at Mbabane Clinic as well.
