MTN Premier League returns Thursday
THE MTN Premier League returns on Thursday with fervently supported hub giants, Manzini Wanderers facing Rangers FC in the battle for their premiership lives.
The ‘Weslians’ are third from the bottom with only 14 points after 19 games and are in a relegation battle with bottom loggers Ezulwini United, fellow Manzini teams, Moneni Pirates and Denver Sundowns.
According to a fixture released by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) on Saturday, the Shiselweni-based outfit, Rangers FC will take on the hub giants at King Sobhuza II Stadium on Thursday at 3 pm.
Then on Saturday at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre, title-chasing Mbabane Swallows, still buoyed by the heartwarming 3-0 win over bitter rivals Mbabane Highlanders in the Ingwenyama Cup quarterfinals, will cross paths with the second-from-the-behind Moneni Pirates. The titanic clash is set for a 3 pm kickoff time.
Down at Mayaluka Stadium, rockbottom Ezulwini United will be hoping to ease their relegation worries when they take on Madlenya FC at 3 pm. Still, in the sugar belt, Mbabane Highlanders will host ambitious Shiselweni-based outfit Nsingizini Hotspurs at 3 pm.
The rest of the fixtures will be played on Easter Monday. MTN log leaders, Young Buffaloes will take on Denver Sundowns at Kalanga Stadium, starting at 3 pm with second-placed Royal Leopard hosting Illovo FC at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre at 3 pm.
