When speaking about the opportunity to partner with Drum Magazine, he said he was more than thrilled to be afforded such a huge platform to help young men and women.
Buthelezi is currently employed at Dawa Green Pharmacy in Manzini. “When I received the direct message (DM) from Drum magazine, I froze and it took me about 10 minutes to let the news sink in. I’m a health advocate and I love my job and this makes me happy,” said Buthelezi.
He further mentioned that the opportunity came at the right time for him because he uses every opportunity he gets to teach people about their reproductive health.
Expertise
When Drum approached Buthelezi they mentioned that they were approaching him based on his expertise. “Good Day Prince, we hope you are well. We are currently working on a sec podcast. And we would like to interview you as one of our experts in our episode on contraceptives and how they change a woman’s cycle or cause side effects, including educational advice for women when it comes to the bodies of women. Please let us know if you are keen and we will organise a day and time for a virtual interview,” read the exact direct message from Drum Magazine.
This publication went a step further to verify the authenticity of the Drum Magazine page that was communicating with Buthelezi. It was indeed discovered that the page was verified and belonged to Drum.
When speaking on this, the Director
of Health Services Dr Vusi Magagula said as a ministry they were happy for Buthelezi. He further praised the healthcare worker for living and breathing his oath. “It is humbling to hear that this gentleman uses his spare time and resources to educate people. He has stretched himself and now stands a chance to reach a larger audience. This does not go unnoticed,” he said.
He further implored other healthcare workers to learn from Buthelezi and use every platform available to enrich and save lives.
