MBABANE – Eswatini Cue Sport Association (ECSA) will hold their annual general meeting next month.

This was confirmed by ECSA Secretary Mbongeni Fakudze after the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) in Mahlanya outside Lobamba this past Sunday.

“We agreed as an association to have a special AGM, whereby among other major activities, will hold by-elections to replace the resigned treasurer, Fana Gama,” said Fakudze.

He also said among other things to be deliberated on were the proposed sponsor of the Morocco trip.

“The financials were not approved because they did not include the budget for the Morocco trip. You will recall that the national team is supposed to partake in the Blackball Pool World Championship in October, so members felt the executive should have included that budget into their financials,” he said.

Fakudze said the resignation of the treasurer partly contributed in the inability to draw up the budget.

“He (treasurer) resigned because of work commitments. He got a new job and had to relocate and focus on his work so he had to resign,” he said.

Agreed

He also highlighted that it was agreed that all affiliates should start their leagues at the same time. Affiliates of ECSA are Hhohho, Manzini and Lubombo.

“In previous instances, you find that the league start in different months and it would have a negative effect in as far player movements and national team selection are concerned,” he said.

He also addressed the issue of Shiselweni membership.

“All regions attended except for Shiselweni who is still not an affiliate but we are making all means to assist them to join,” he said.

He also pointed that affiliate promised to help associate to fundraise money for the Morroco trip which needs more than E200 000 for the trip.

Fakudze also said regions were urged not to take matters to court but sort it within the relevant structures. He said if parties were not finding lasting solutions, they should rather ask intervention from Eswatini Sports and Recreational Council.
