‘Weslians’ target Langelihle, Tambuti duo

MBABANE – They mean business!

That is hub giants Manzini Wanderers who intend beefing up their team with both youth and experience ahead of the 2022/23 season. The ‘Weslians’ finished the recently-ended MTN Premier League occupying the sixth spot on 40 points, trailing Tambankulu Callies by four. The latter punched above their weight as they finished above seasoned campaigner­s in Green Mamba, Manzini Sea Birds, Denver Sundowns and Moneni Pirates.

As source close to the maroon and white outfit of Manzini, revealed that the team was working around the clock to bring on board some elite league players, ahead of the coming season in a bid to improve from last season’s performanc­e.

“I have the list of team’s target for the coming season that they are definitely going to sign. This is a fact which I can’t hide. On top of their wish list is Tambuti’s Captain Machawe Dlamini and Denver Sundowns’ youngster Langelihle Dlamini,” the source said.

He also revealed that they had parted ways with Head Coach Velekhaya Mthetwa, who joined them in the second round of the season.

“It’s an open secret that Velekhaya is no longer with us,” said the impeccable source.

He further revealed that they would resume pre-season training next week Monday. The hub giants would have a pre-season match against city rivals Denver Sundows in gender-based violence (GBV) awareness game slated for the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium on July 30, 2022.

The game will be supported by the Nazarene Compassion­ate Ministries (NCM) and the partnershi­p was launched two days ago at Manzini Total Coffee Shop.
