PnP for Africa Soccer Legends activation

MBABANE – Africa Soccer Legends tournament will today have its activation at Matsapha Pick n Pay.

The African Soccer Legends tournament is an initiative founded by both African Tourism Board (ATB) and United African Communitie­s in Eswatini (UACE). The tournament is slated for August 29. Africa Carnival Eswatini Project Coordinato­r Nonhlanhla Sithole confirmed the latest developmen­t on the activation campaign.

“The activation will be held at the Matsapha new Pick n Pay branch situated near Mashayitaf­ula on your way to the airport. The activation will start at 11am and end around 1pm,” Sithole said.

She also said they would be selling raffle draw tickets at E5.

“We will have 10 winners from those who have bought the tickets. The winners will have a VIP lunch with some of the legends on the day,” she said.

She also said Siza ‘King Pele’

Mbabane Swallows and national team Sihlangu legend Siza ‘King Pele’ Dlamini.

Dlamini, a Mbabane Swallows and national team Sihlangu legend and

former Jomo Cosmos player and Assistant Coach, would be part of the activation. She said they were still going to confirm other legends that would form part of the activation.

She also revealed they have partners with Pick n Pay Eswatini for the activation campaigns, which would be held every Saturday in different Pick n Pay stores around the country.

“The activation campaigns will continue until the day of the tournament,” she said.

EXCITEMENT

Asked what the purposes of the campaigns were, she responded; “It is to help build the excitement leading to the day of the tournament. The big picture is to unite emaSwati and let them have the privilege to meet their favourite legends,” she said.

The launch of the Africa Soccer Legends was held about a week ago at Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini. It was attended by Minister of Tourism and Environmen­tal Affairs, Moses Vilakati, South Africa’s SuperSport Journalist Thomas Kwenaite, Eswatini legends based in South Africa in William ‘Cool Cat’ Shongwe and Abel ‘Chaklas’ Shongwe.
