- BY DELISA THWALA

MBABANE – It was a day of jubilation and giving praise to the Lord for 74-year-old Shadrack Maphosa, who won E100 000 in the MTN Walala Wasala 1.0 competition.

The first words he uttered were, “Nkulunkulu ubona lenhlitiyo yakho,”(God sees your heart).

The elated Maphosa walked away with the E100 000 yesterday at the MTN Headquarters Mahlala Ekhukhwini House where the cheque handover was held.

“I did not anticipate to win because I was playing for fun and just to keep my mind busy. This is a huge deal for me and my family,” said Maphosa.

In addition, he further said the money would go towards his church, Two Philips Church and mentioned that most of it would be used for tithes.

“I believe God saw my heart and granted me this win. Therefore, I will help grow my church and my area in Siphocosini,” said Maphosa, who

used to work at Swazi Can.

Other winners who walked away with E5 000 each, mentioned that they were delighted to have won.

One of them, Nelisiwe Tfwala said: “Thank you to the Almighty God and MTN for this, I’m grateful and the money will go a long way.”

Meanwhile, MTN Eswatini Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Meshack Maseko said they were dedicated to keeping their customers happy.

He said the current economic situation in the country had forced them (100MB)

to make sure everyone was taken care of.

“There is a chance for everyone to win and have something to take home. We are here for that; to make sure our customers win. There are more prizes for everyone,” he said.

Yesterday marked the end of Walala Wasala 1.0 and Walala Wasala 2.0 has begun and winners will be announced month end.

Worth noting is that the Walala Wasala is originally derived from ‘Smagamaga’.

It is still the same concept, just a different name and more prizes.
