MBABANE – The Value Auto Parts 2 Fast 2 Furious Classic Race attracted a number of families.

A number of families came in numbers to join this year’s edition of Value Auto Parts sponsored cycling event. The event was held at MA Ranches along the Big Bend-Lukhula Road this past Sunday.

The main race was won by Orion Craigue while Dinize Wilsch won in the ladies 96km category, with Makepeace Bailey and Sebenele Magongo shining in the 76km in their respective categories.

The duo of Charles Zwane and Robyn Young shone in the 24km category.

Some of the families that joined the race were the Jeles, the Youngs, Wilschs and McNamaras.

The Jeles had Kwanele, Lindokuhle, Lungani and Amahle. Also who came to support the Jeles were their mother, Ncobile and eldest son Wiseman and Tandzile. The winner in the 96km female category Dinize Wilsch brought along

Speaking on behalf of the Jeles, Ncobile said they encouraged the children to do what they loved.

“I always tell them to do what they love and enjoy it to the fullest. We even incentivis­e back at home for doing well in their race categories. We also give them time to train so that they can compete fairly,” said Ncobile.

Worth mentioning is that Kwanele Jele will be representi­ng the country in the Commonweal­th Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The Commonweal­th Games will be staged from July 28 to August 8.

Asked how they felt that Kwanele had been chosen to represent the country, she said they were proud of him.

“We knew somehow that he was improving in his races and all credit should also go to his team Newcom Wheels and his workplace where they allow him to train,” Kwanele’s mother said.
