HLATIKHULU – Bucopho of chiefdoms making up KuMethula Constituency denied knowledge of over 40 youth, three of which were in the top 20 males who won the 3.2km race.
This transpired yesterday at KuMethula Constituency, which was the last constituency left in the army recruitment exercise.
The exercise was a success despite threats that roads leading to the constituency would be closed.
It was noted, however, that there was a heavy presence of members of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force(UEDF) compared to any other constituencies of the region.
The over 40 youth were denied participation in the recruitment exercise as the bucopho insisted they were not from the area.
Worth noting is that the youth kept on claiming that they were from the constituency, saying they left with their mothers while they were young hence they had different chief codes, but they were denied participation.
There were second confirmations of the winners after winning the 3.2km race, wherein three males had to be replaced because they were not known by any of the bucopho.

There were over 400 participants who ran the race. It was noted that there were familiar faces of people who had participated in other constituencies.
One of them participated at Sandleni Constituency. He was noted because he lodged a complaint of another at Sandleni, who he said was cheating having participated at Mbangweni.
A short meeting was convened at Sandleni where Musa, said one Bongani was cheating adding that he was supposed to give them a fair chance under their constituency. It was established that Musa and Bongani knew each other from the Mbangweni Royal Residence (emalawini).
Musa had to swallow his words yesterday when he was reminded what he said and was eventually disqualified because he had participated in his constituency at Sandleni.
The exercise ran smoothly thereafter and six were chosen after the exercises.
