Apostle Justice, Prophet Fire’s case postponed
MBABANE – The defamation case instituted by Worship Centre founder Apostle Justice Dlamini against Prophet Elijah Fire did not proceed yesterday because the former’s attorney was indisposed.
Lawyer Mhlengi Mabuza told Judge Zonke Magagula that Meluleki Ndlangamandla, who represents Mkhemetelo Mkhatshwa, popularly known as Prophet Elijah Fire, was not feeling well. The matter was postponed to August 22 and 23, 2022.
This is the second postponement after Apostle Justice gave his evidence-in-chief. The apostle’s representative, Sidumo Mdladla, also became ill on the second day of the matter and it was postponed to yesterday.
The apostle demanded E10 million from Mkhatshwa for defaming him. He filed two claims and wants to be compensated E5 million for each. For the accusation of bribing Delisa Thwala, who was employed by the Eswatini Observer, to write negatively about Mkhatshwa, Dlamini is demanding E5 million and the same amount for the allegation that he keeps a snake.
Compensated
The apostle’s representative, Sidumo Mdladla of SV Mdladla and Associates, said Mkhatshwa, as per the pre-trial minutes, conceded certain aspects of the suit and the issue to be determined is the quantum (the amount he should be compensated).
When the matter started, Mdladla requested the apostle to relate the issues that brought him to court.
Apostle Dlamini, who was in the witness box, narrated: “It was on Monday 11am (April 6, 2020), it was a black Monday for me, I got a call and a message on my phone sent by my attorney Sidumo Mdladla asking me if I had listened to the audio that had been disseminated. I said no and he forwarded it to me. He asked me to listen to it. I listened to it and I heard that it was about me and very bad things were said about me. ”
The apostle submitted that he was unable to do anything else after listening to the audio clip and his cellphone rang non-stop.
