LAST week Sunday I was privileged to do my first race after my comeback in the sport. I was blessed to compete with the 4EVA juniors.

It gave me hope considering my recent article where I was concerned about the rate we were losing youngsters in the sport.

As an experienced cyclist, I saw young, strong and confident youngsters eager to win.

The youngsters were riding with passion.

It is so amazing to see the passion they have at a tender age.

As a cyclist who has been in the sport for some time, it is the first time we have a very strong team of juniors aged between 14 and 16.

Big up to the management of 4EVA, considering that it is so costly to maintain such a team.

We hope more sponsors will come on board to assist these future Tour de France competitors.

I had to interview their Coach William Kelly.

He said there was still more to expect on Bale, Malik, Sakhiseni.

He said they were working hard to push the boys to ride internationally.

Dropped

During the past week’s race, I was dropped by the first two youngsters with a smile inside the last 10km.

I’m also grateful to Clinton McNamara, who was the first one to respond to my article with a positive attitude.

So I have the greatest hope they have a data on how to keep these future stars until they represent us globally and make history.

Their team manager, Morgan Rudd, confirmed with me after the race that they were working on a lot of things with the juniors.
