MBABANE – Acting Magistrate Innocent Motsa has saved at least 15 needy female pupils of Mphembekati Primary School from walking to school barefoot in the biting cold.

The acting magistrate, through his foundation, Mlungisi Motsa Foundation and his law firm, I.M Motsa Attorneys, also put smiles on the elderly of his area, Vusweni, who are widows by donating food parcels. Courage to Conquer assisted with the donation of sanitary towels. Vusweni and the school are under Kukhanyeni Inkhundla. Motsa said he approached the head teacher of Mphembekati Primary School, whom he requested to assist by identifying 15 most needy female pupils. Due to the high number of destitute children and households in the area, the head teacher, according to Motsa, came up with 40 pupils who required assistance in different aspects of their lives.

Serious

Motsa informed this publication that they selected 15 from the 40 pupils who were in serious need of assistance. He said he donated a pair of shoes to each of the 15 pupils. The acting magistrate stated that all the 40 pupils who had been selected by the head teacher did not go home empty-handed as he gave them all sanitary towels and other items.

Motsa did not end there as he went on to donate food parcels to the elderly at Vusweni. The acting magistrate said 33 elderly people benefitted from the donation of 5kg rice, Sunlight soap, a packet of sugar, beans, cooking oil and bread per person. The elderly people of the area, which is affected by a lack of food, were grateful to Motsa for the assistance.

They expressed gratitude that in these times when the prices of basic commodities were rising by the day, Motsa still found it in his heart to share with them the little that he had. They said at a time when most households were belt-tightening, Motsa did not forget about their needs and when he should have put his family first, he selflessly gave to the needy.

“Vusweni is one of the areas where I come from, so I decided to give back to the community, especially to the elderly who are needy,” Motsa said.
