MBABANE - Genes of The Vibes duo track titled has reached 1k views on YouTube.

‘Basize’

Just months after the video was released, it managed to attract more than 1k views on YouTube.

Born Mfanfikile Ntshangase and Samkelo Dlamini, the duo came together last year April. They got five nominations last year for their track titled ‘Ngifuna wena’ featuring KwangMusic. The track Basize was released three months ago and they featured CNXBOi100 and NICKI J on the vocals.

The DJs are also producers and song writers. When the duo was reached for a comment they said,

“We shot the music video few weeks after recording the song. Lucky for us, we have our own music videos.

Quickly

“We shot the video around Mbabane and Msunduza. It actually took us less than 7 hours to shoot the whole video, we believe in getting the job done quickly as possible. Shooting this video was a good experience for us,” said the duo.

Sithembiso Kunene is an actor who recently graduated in May of this year in acting for television at African Academy of Cinematic Arts in South Africa. The actor was born and grew up in Mbabane.

His journey in acting started in Eswatini where he was featured in a show called Ekhaya where he played the role of ‘Senzo’. His character faced a lot of challenges in his youth and he got to tap into the life of a made up character which he says grew his craft.

He also expressed how he would be forever grateful for the opportunity that he was presented to him because that is where he realised that he was actually good at acting, and could make a career out of it.

That’s when he ventured off to Johannesburg to join an academy called Actor Spaces in 2019, where he learned more about the basics of the craft and gained more confidence in himself as a performer.

From there, Kunene went to film school to study the craft because he strongly believes in the importance of being educated in what you can do so that you can have a broad understanding.

They went on to say that they met lot of people who wanted to be part of their video. “Just like that we came up with a good story of the song. We wanted to have the video based on what’s we facing as a country, in terms or poverty and different scenarios happening around us,” said the duo.

They further said their song it’s highly streamed in South Africa (SA) and other countries.

Gained

They also mentioned that they we’ve gained more listeners on Spotify’. The duo released the video six weeks after their fans’ request.

“We have reached 1k views on YouTube so far. And we want to push it to more until it reaches the right audience. We currently not happy with the results, but we believe it will reach the right audience anytime soon. We are still pushing for it to be recognised and watched in SA. We believe that if this song and video can be pushed with good effort, it can break charts on TV and radio. We have submitted the song and video to our Public Relations (PR) Company in South Africa and them looking forward on plugging it on both radio and TV.
