Tambankulu Callies are not only keen on excellence in the field of play but positively impacting the lives of people in the community.

The Lubombo-based ensemble have opened a funeral cover policy and cash loan service. Callies Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mnotfo Dlamni said the initiative got in motion recently and would for the time being accommodat­e registered club supporters, team players and officials, as well as residents of Tambankulu Estate.

Loan interests are limited to 20 per cent while monthly subscripti­ons for the funeral cover vary depending on the clients and service provider’s agreement.

He highlighte­d the importance of preparing for the inevitable, which is death, and ensuring that families did not struggle to bury their loved ones.

“It is saddening to see families struggling to bury their members because they do not have a funeral policy. This is why we started the ‘Madvudvu Bhejane’ Funeral Cover. The loan business is another income generating business that will help in catering for club expenses including players’ salaries, food and playing equipment,” Dlamini said.

Callies Head of Administra­tion Surprise Mhlongo said interested individual­s would be obliged to submit a proof of registrati­on with Callies club supporters before gaining access to their services.
