MBABANE – Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings has donated 100 blankets worth E45 000 to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital.

At a handover ceremony held at the hospital premises last Friday, Inyatsi General Manager Sanele Msibi stressed that the company was deeply committed to the Kingdom of Eswatini.

“In this vein, we have launched the Warm Winter Blanket Campaign. Through this initiative, we are donating 100 blankets to the RFM in recognition of the great service it continues to render to the people of Eswatini,” Msibi said.

He added, “Our Warm Winter Blanket Campaign is one of many initiatives embarked on by Inyatsi, as part of its corporate social responsibility. We at Inyatsi feel a great responsibility towards our community and the Kingdom of Eswatini at large.” The manager also paid tribute to the work done by RFM which has not gone unnoticed, making RFM a deserving beneficiary of this initiative.

Responsibility

Inyatsi Managing Director Derick Shiba said, “We feel a great responsibility towards the community and the Kingdom of Eswatini at large as we have built soup kitchens at Maliyaduma Royal Kraal, Moneni Care Point and St. Joseph’s Primary School.” He said at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the company’s Traffic Accommodation Office, they donated 500 face masks to Moyeni High School and St. Joseph’s Primary School. He said they also donated two boreholes and three 5 000 litre water tanks to Gundvwini and a borehole and two 5 000 litre water tanks to Ngculwini.

When receiving the donation, RFM Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Benjamin Simelane thanked Inyatsi for the kind gesture and for paving the driveway between RFM Hospital Emergency Gate and the Old Stone Church. He also offered sympathy to Inyatsi for the unfortunate past events which saw the company’s heavy machinery being set alight in several arson attacks.

The CEO shared a brief history of the hospital, stating that Dr. Hynd started treating patients within days of settling at Bremersdorp.
