- BY PHIWASE PHUNGWAYO

NGCULWINI – A young woman has been left homeless after a fire engulfed her two-room house and destroyed everything.

Ncamsile Dlamini, the owner of the house, is unemployed and relies on odd jobs around Ngculwini area, on the outskirts of Manzini.

She, together with her mother, were found still in shock and could not hold their tears when narrating their story.

Ncamsile was away when her mother, Juana Dlamini who was in the main house, discovered that her daughter’s house was in flames.

According to Juana, this was after her three-year-old grandchild approached and told her he wanted to sleep. Juana relayed that she came closer to the fire and discovered that it was too extensive to be extinguished.

Boys

She said she immediately called one of the boys from the area and informed him about the fire. The elderly woman mentioned that she also called her daughter, who was the owner of the house. They all arrived promptly and called the police and the fire services. Juana suspected that the child might have lit a candle which started the fire. However, she said she was uncertain of what caused it.

Meanwhile, although the total value of the damaged goods was not ascertained at the time of compiling this report, the house owner revealed that items such as a base set, 15 blankets, a television set, as well as documents such as national identity cards and travel documents, were all destroyed in the fire. Eswatini National Fire and Emergency Services personnel arrived swiftly to attend to the incident.
