Mbabane next for Lillies auditions choir

MBABANE – The Lillies Mass Choir auditions are heading to Mbabane this Saturday.

The auditions will be held at Worship Centre. Manzini is next the following Saturday, at the Manzini -Worship Centre).

On August 13 this year, it will be held at Nhlangano -Mathendele Community Hall, all auditions starts at 8am.

Young girls between the ages of 18 -35 years have been called to try their luck; all they need to do is to prepare a minute song acappela for auditions, no backtrack or instrument­s.

Young girls from different churches, or denominati­ons or singers are welcome.

Last week Saturday only three out of over 15 young women who tried their luck made it to the next round.

The auditions took place last week Saturday at Maphalalen­i.

The lucky winners were; Maphosa Noncedo - Power of foundation, Siphesihle Mamba - Salvation Explosion, and Mncina Nonhlanhla from Eluvinjelw­eni AEC.

“This exercise is about raw talent, and we just experienci­ng just that these young girls are so talented and raw wow, surely these are ‘The Lillies’ we looking for.

Let them Blossom and shine some more,” said Phetsile Masilela who was one of the judges.

The mass choir will be composed of 20 young females, who are inspired by love, admiration, compassion and femininity.

This compliment­s their brand color, pink, which stands for love, admiration, compassion, feminist and understand­ing.The lilly is simply bursting with symbolism of femininity, love, purity and grief.

The Lillies will take you through a Gospel musical journey of sharing love. The project is managed by Hala Group Entertainm­ent and initiated by Zazikhona Music, according to Larry Mhlanga who’s the project manager.

Mhlanga said the purpose for forming the choir is to encourage young girls who are gifted in art to explore their potential in music as a career as this will have positive impact on them to realise their potential at a younger age and use it for future income generation.

“It will young durdays get also keep the girls busy ing holidays as they busy with music lessons also to celebrate and empower young women in the music industry so they can be able to make income and fend for their families through music as a talent, this will reduce dependency syndrome,” said Mhlanga. “We as industry gatekeeper­s we need to promote team spirit and oneness among women to support each other as they grow in the industry in that way we will be promoting good character and integrity among women as they climb up the ladder in the industry.”
