MBABANE – No chancers.
That is the message to the four teams participating in this Saturday’s Bible Society Cup at Mavuso Sports Centre. Manzini Wanderers face Moneni Pirates while Mbabane Highlanders have a date with Denver Sundowns.
Teams failing to confirm a protest, if lodged, will be in hot soup. This is per Article 9 of the tournament’s rules and regulations.
Any protest regarding defaulters must be lodged with the referee during the card checking process; otherwise it shall be rendered null and void. “Any other protest shall be lodged with the referee at the time it occurs, otherwise it shall be rendered null and void,” reads Article 9.2 in part.
Confirmation of a protest must reach the management committee (MC) secretary not later than fifteen (15) minutes after the match. “A protest fee amounting to E5 000 in cash with evidence shall accompany the confirmation, otherwise the protest shall be rendered null and void,” further reads the article. Any protesting team that fails to confirm its protest or abandons the protest shall be summarily fined an amount of E10 000.
Power
Meanwhile, if the need arises, a Premier League of Eswatini protest and disciplinary committee (PDC) shall be convened at the stadium. It shall have power to consider and deal with the protest lodged by a team or league and make the necessary decision to ensure the completion of the tournament. The decision of the DC shall be binding and final on all parties.
“Parties to a protest shall be afforded an opportunity to make written submissions to substantiate or defend their case to the DC for consideration in their hearing of the matter. The written submissions must reach the MC at the stadium immediately after the match and before the expiry of thirty (30) minutes after the match where the protest has been lodged, otherwise the submission shall be rendered null and void,” reads the rules.
The decision of the DC shall be final and binding to all parties concerned. No appeal shall be considered.
